New Delhi. Former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul Haq has expressed disappointment over the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in which it has said that it will not send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy (ICC Champions Trophy). Along with this, this former captain has advised India that it should send its team to Pakistan and there will be no threat to their security here. He said that if they send their team here, then their team will be taken full care of in Pakistan.
Earlier on Sunday, November 10, BCCI made its stand clear by sending an email to the global governing body of cricket, ICC (International Cricket Council). BCCI wrote that it will not send its team on a tour to Pakistan. ICC also forwarded this email received from BCCI to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to which Inzamam has given his response.
Giving information to the media after receiving an email from the Indian Cricket Board from the ICC, the Pakistan Cricket Board said, 'PCB has received an email from the ICC, which states that the BCCI has informed them that their team will not tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB has sent this email to the Government of Pakistan for advice and instructions.'
When Inzamam got this information, he was disappointed and said that India was snatching away the happiness of the people. According to the PTI report, he said, 'They are depriving cricket of a big opportunity. There is no threat to the Indian team in Pakistan. And they will get the best welcome here.' Apart from Inzamam, former Pakistan Test batsman Mohsin Khan also said that politics should never be mixed with sports.
Let us tell you that India has not sent its team on a tour to Pakistan since the Asia Cup 2008. However, the Pakistan team visited India for a bilateral series in 2012-13. Apart from this, it also came to India for the 2016 T20 World Cup and the ODI World Cup 2023 held last year.
