"Five years ago I moved to the US and associated myself with other pop artists in America. I also have my own band and my own music and I tour with it."

He said, "Well long story short. Please respect our privacy. This is a personal matter and it is painful."
Mohini wrote in the caption, "The misinformation and baseless assumptions against me and AR Rahman are completely unbelievable."
“I am grateful for the 8.5 years I spent working with AR Rahman as a kid in his films, and tours. It is disappointing to see that people have no respect or empathy for such emotional matters.”
“It pains me to see the state of mind of people. AR Rahman is a legend and he is like a father to me.”
She further added, “I have had many role models and father figures in my life who have played a vital role in my career and upbringing. To name a few, my father who taught me everything about music (whom I lost a year ago), and then Ranjit Barot, who introduced me to the industry. Lewis Banks who shaped me and AR Rahman who gave me the freedom to shine in his shows and music arrangements during recordings. I cherish these memories and always will.”
He further said, “People in the media do not understand the impact it has on people's minds and lives. Be sensitive. I do not owe anyone any explanation. Please stop spreading lies. Respect our privacy.”
