New Delhi. Team India, which has come to Australia to score a hat-trick of victories, has been given some useful advice by its former opening batsman Matthew Hayden before the third Test. He said that no matter how difficult the conditions are in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting on December 14, the Indian team should bat first here. India had started this 5-Test series with a win. But the Kangaroo team, which is adept at making a comeback, has equaled the series 1-1 by defeating India in the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide.

When the Indian team came here last time (2020-21), young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 89 runs in the Brisbane Test to give India a spectacular victory. Here, along with winning the Test match, India also won the series 2-1.

Hayden said, 'Brisbane is a different kind of ground. It is Australia's home ground, but it is also a good ground for India, because the last time they played here, they registered a great victory.' He stressed that India will have to improve their batting.

Hayden told Star Sports, 'India will have to take out time to bat. In a Test match, one should bat all day. If they are not able to play even for a day, it will not be acceptable. They will have to score around 350 runs. Even if the conditions are difficult, India should bat first.'

Hayden also explained how Indian fast bowlers can get Australian batsmen out early. He said that bowlers should bowl on the line outside the fourth and fifth stumps. In Adelaide, India could not get Travis Head out early, who changed the course of the match by scoring 140 runs.

Hayden said, 'When India bowls, they should stick to the line of the fourth-fifth stump. Most importantly, they have to take advantage of the bounce of Gabba. This is the main weapon of fast bowling in Brisbane. The red ball will be more suitable for the Test match. Australia has been more successful with the pink ball, but playing with the red ball will be beneficial for India.'
