New Delhi. The Government of India has selected a total of 4 players including shooting champion Manu Bhaker and chess star D. Gukesh for the Khel Ratna award this time. A total of 32 players have been selected for the Arjuna Award. The names of Indian hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and para athlete Praveen Kumar are also included in the list of those who received the Khel Ratna.
Manu Bhaker had won two medals for India in the Paris Olympics last year. D. Gukesh emerged as the world chess champion. Indian hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and para athlete Praveen Kumar will be given the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award on January 17.
