In 2003, at the height of her career, Karisma Kapoor married businessman Sanjay Kapoor. For the wedding, she chose a stunning pastel pink lehenga, paired with elegant diamond jewelry and heavy Punjabi kalire, all while keeping her makeup minimal. Sanjay Kapoor complemented her look in a beige sherwani.
Before Sanjay: A Broken Engagement with Abhishek Bachchan
Karisma was previously engaged to Abhishek Bachchan, son of Amitabh Bachchan, but the engagement was called off, allegedly due to interference from Karisma’s mother. She later tied the knot with Sanjay Kapoor, but the marriage lasted only until 2016.
A Tumultuous Marriage and Eventual Divorce
Post-separation, the couple was involved in a lengthy legal battle filled with mutual allegations. The divorce made headlines, especially when Karisma accused Sanjay of mistreatment. Eventually, Karisma was awarded a substantial alimony, including ownership of a house in Khar and bonds worth ₹14 crore for her children, generating ₹10 lakh monthly income.
Now Co-Parenting, Karisma Focuses on Career
Although they had no contact for years, Karisma and Sanjay are now co-parenting their two children after his third marriage. Professionally, Karisma recently made a comeback with her role in the film 'Murder Mubarak'.
