The actress, who played a strong role in 'Gabbar is Back', said that she used to get upset when people constantly asked her questions about her star father Kamal Haasan. To avoid this, she sometimes pretended to be unaware.

The actress said that she is very proud to be the daughter of Sarika and Kamal Haasan, but in her childhood, she often used to get annoyed. That was because, "People used to ask about him (Kamal Haasan) after seeing me.

People would point at me saying “Hey, she is Kamal's daughter” and when someone asked me I would act ignorant and say no, my father is Dr Ramachandran. It was our dentist's name and I am Pooja Ramachandran (I made up this name myself). Shruti also said that she always knew that her father was not a normal star but a big actor and it was challenging for her to escape the fame while living in Chennai.
