Rajnath Singh on Indian Missiles : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized on Wednesday that India is undergoing a revolutionary transformation, with its fighter jets, missile systems, and naval ships not just safeguarding national borders but also attracting global attention. Speaking at the closing ceremony of 'Aero India 2025', Singh described the event as a milestone in India's defence journey, highlighting the remarkable progress the country has made in indigenous defence production.

"Energy, Energy, and Energy" - A Powerful Presence at Aero India

Reflecting on his experience at the event, Singh remarked, "If I had to sum up my experience in three words, it would be energy, energy, and energy." He noted that the enthusiasm on display at Yelahanka Air Base was not limited to Indian participants but was shared by defence experts and innovators from across the world.

He praised Indian entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators, stating that their zeal and passion for defence technology are driving the nation toward self-reliance and global leadership in the defence sector.

From Import Dependency to Self-Sufficiency in Defence

Rajnath Singh pointed out that India has historically relied heavily on imports to meet its defence needs. A decade ago, about 65 to 70 percent of defence equipment was imported. However, thanks to dedicated efforts towards indigenization, the situation has completely changed.

"What was once a dependency is now a strength. Today, nearly the same percentage of defence equipment is being manufactured right here in India. This is nothing short of a revolution," Singh stated proudly.

India's Defence Exports: A Global Attraction

The Defence Minister highlighted that India's fighter aircraft, missile systems, and naval ships are not just protecting its borders but have also become a center of attraction for countries worldwide.

"Today, we are exporting everything—from small artillery to advanced platforms like the BrahMos and Akash missile systems—to multiple nations. This is not just boosting our defence exports but also fostering new strategic partnerships across the globe," Singh explained.

He emphasized that India's defence growth is not only strengthening the country's economy and security but also positioning it as a key player in the global defence market.

With events like Aero India 2025, India is demonstrating its commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and international collaboration, setting the stage for a future where Indian-made defence technology leads on the world stage.
