The 15th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 saw Gujarat Giants dominate UP Warriors at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, securing a massive 81-run victory. Batting first, Gujarat posted 186/5 in 20 overs, with Beth Mooney's explosive 96 off 59 balls* leading the charge. In response, UP Warriors crumbled for 105 runs in just 17.1 overs.
Beth Mooney’s Unbeaten 96 Powers Gujarat Giants
Gujarat Giants' innings started on a shaky note as Dayalan Hemalatha fell cheaply for 2 runs to Chinelle Henry. However, Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol steadied the innings with a 101-run partnership.
- Harleen Deol scored 45 off 32 balls, hitting six fours before getting dismissed.
- Ashley Gardner (11) and Deandra Dottin (17) contributed but couldn't stay long.
- Despite wickets falling at the other end, Mooney anchored the innings, hitting 17 fours in her 96 off 59 balls*, narrowly missing a century.
In the bowling department, Sophie Ecclestone picked up 2 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs, while Chinelle Henry, Deepti Sharma, and Kranti Gaud took one wicket each.
UP Warriors’ Batting Collapse
Chasing 187, UP Warriors had a disastrous start, losing wickets early:

- Vrinda Dinesh (13) also departed quickly, leaving UP Warriors struggling.
- The middle-order failed to build partnerships as the entire team folded for 105 runs in 17.1 overs.
Chinelle Henry was the top scorer, smashing 28 off 14 balls with three fours and two sixes. Grace Harris (25) tried to resist but couldn't turn the game around.
Gujarat Giants’ Bowlers Shine
- Kashvi Gautam and Tanuja Kanwar led the attack with three wickets each.
- Deandra Dottin also impressed, picking up two wickets.
