Hyderabad: Ending a decade-long argument about who between the two – the two footballers widely considered as the current generation’s Black and white Chavez and Maradona – is the GOAT (Greatest of All-time), Cristiano Ronaldo stated that he has no qualms if some people prefer Messi over him, but he really will not accept it if one will say that he is not a complete footballer. Ronaldo also said that he is unique in that field and has not been equal to anyone in the histories of football.
In my opinion I am much more happy and complete footballer than any other footballer in the history of the sport. Still, people could like Messi, Maradona or Pele, and it is okay with me for I value myself as being the most complete footballer. I am reporting the fact that I am the best player in the football history. During the interview with Spanish media channel La Sexta TV, he was quite adamant in stating, ‘I have never seen anyone better than me in football’.
While in the interview, the 40-year-old further cleared the air that in the past one and half a decade, they were never on the bad terms that they made football duopoly.
That is why I never had a bad relationship with Messi. We have had fifteen years of awards, and through that tenure, we have been tolerant to each other expected of good performance. Recalling the past, Cristiano mentioned that he used to translate English to him and it was quite amusing. “He defended his club and I mine, and his national team and I mine”. I can recall that the feedback given is from one another. There were years when he wanted to play everything and therefore did I. It was a healthy fight he further stated.
In response to the question about whether he is the best player in the history of football, Ronaldo took it in his usual flair and responded with a comment about goals. When it comes to some issues, there is no logical explanation. What does a goalscorer mean? This is an expression which reflects the characteristics of this player as a goal scorer ‘It is someone who puts the ball in the goal,” the Al-Nassr player. Should I say that I am the most complete player that has ever lived. I do everything in football. I header well, I perform nicely in free kick, I have left foot, right foot my strength and I go out…
Cristiano Ronaldo who has scored 921 career club goals currently aims at scoring even 1000 before taking his retirement and once again different benchmark is being set by him with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He is also the indisputed national team captain and has scored his only goal against the target 135 times in 217 caps for Portugal.
