Importance of Chhath Puja
During Chhath Puja, Lord Surya and Shashthi Mata are worshipped, who is also known as Chhathi Mata. Women especially observe this fast for the long life and good health of their children. Chhath Puja is also considered to be of special importance for couples who have been wishing to have a child for a long time. It is said that by observing this fast, Chhathi Mata fills the empty lap and the house starts echoing with the laughter of a child.
