7th Pay Commission Big Update: Central employees are going to get the gift of dearness allowance (DA Hike) before Diwali. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet, the Central Government has decided to increase the dearness allowance by 3 percent. However, the increase in DA has not been officially announced by the government yet. More than one crore central employees as well as pensioners will get the benefit of this decision of the government. According to the report, the salary for the month of October will be given along with the increased DA and arrears for three months.

So DA will become 53%!

At present, central employees get 50% of their basic salary as dearness allowance. After the increase of 3%, it will increase to 53%. The central government increases DA twice a year in January and July, which is announced around Holi in March and around Diwali in September. After this, arrears are also paid.

This year, the July DA hike was delayed and was expected to be announced before the Haryana elections on October 5. According to the report, this did not happen, so now it is expected that it will be announced before Diwali on October 31. The Central Government Employees and Workers Federation wrote a letter to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman drawing attention to the delay in the announcement of DA.

Dearness allowance is increased to provide relief to government employees from rising inflation. DA is calculated every six months based on the AICPI index.

Announcement made in Himachal-Chhattisgarh

The increase in DA has already been announced in Himachal and Chhattisgarh. The Himachal Pradesh government has given the gift of a 4% increase to 1.80 lakh state government employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners. In Chhattisgarh too, the DA of state government employees has been increased by 4%.
