
Carlsberg India, a leading beer manufacturer, has reported a 60.5% increase in profit, reaching ₹323.1 crore for the financial year 2023-24. This information was disclosed to the Registrar of Companies (ROC). According to Tofler, a business intelligence platform, Carlsberg India's total income for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, grew by 15.2% to ₹8,044.9 crore—marking its highest-ever revenue in India. The company has successfully surpassed the ₹8,000 crore revenue milestone.
Strong Growth in the Beer Industry
Carlsberg India confirmed its impressive financial performance, stating that the beer industry continues to expand steadily in terms of volume. The company's cash balance and bank balance stood at ₹930.4 crore and ₹1,116.5 crore, respectively, in FY 2023-24. Comparatively, in FY 2022-23, Carlsberg India had recorded a profit of ₹201.3 crore. On a standalone basis, the company's operating income for the latest financial year reached ₹6,937 crore.
Rising Excise Duty and Expenses
Carlsberg India’s excise duty expense surged by 13.4% to ₹4,877.8 crore in FY 2023-24, up from ₹4,301.6 crore in FY 2022-23. Additionally, the company’s advertising and promotion expenses totaled ₹96.5 crore, while total expenditure rose by 13.4% to ₹7,628.3 crore.
Carlsberg India’s continued growth reflects the expanding demand in the Indian beer market, further solidifying its position as a key player in the industry.
