Auto Expo 2025: The new development in the world of EVs is dual motor or AWD. Currently, Tata Motors has the largest range of electric cars but soon it will increase its range further with a range of dual motor offerings.
Currently, all Tata EVs come with a single motor but Harrier EV and Sierra EV are set to have dual motor assembly. With regards to the production model, the Harrier EV set to be showcased during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo will come equipped with dual motors too.
Dual Motor Description
As mentioned earlier, the Harrier EV will be Tata Motors’ first electrical vehicle equipped with AWD technology and which means that it will come equipped with dual motors. The Harrier EV however, could serve as an example since it could deliver plus 260bhp. It is set to be closer to being the most powerful Tata Motors car. The Sierra EV is also expected to have dual electric motors, however, the bHP speed out out is expected to be less.
This allows us to predict the different layouts that are possible for the Harrier EV. For instance, the best model could offer a dual motor configuration along with a 60kwh base battery which the other trims may also offer, however, they would be in a single motor layout only.
The Harrier EV will be part of a modular architecture which is already in use by both the Punch EV and the Curvv EV. Let’s not forget about the Sierra EV which will also use this architecture resulting in improved space, design, and frunk availability in front trim. This model amounts us competition with SUV producers such as Mahindra XEV 7e.
Luxury has shifted from an optional feature to becoming the new battleground for EVs.
