The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)has confirmed the roster for IND vs ENG T20_ I series held in Arun Jaitley Stadium starting on the 11th of January 2023. With Suryakumar Yadav as the captain, the squad consists of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ashwin Hebbar, Tilak Varma, Dhruv Jurel and other players.  

With almost a two year absence, veteran Shami returned to the squad for the T20 contests. However, Rishabh Pant did not avail the chance for this contest.

Last competing in the ODI’s World Cup in 2023, Shami has made a highly anticipated return to the T20 squad. The senior speedster before the tournament commenced, went through a knee injury and has recuperated quickly by competing in various local tournaments such as the Syed Mutshita Ali and Vijay Hazar trophy. Previously he did not take part in the border Gavasakar tournament due to swelling of the knee.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Dhruv Jurel was announced as the backup wicketkeeper given the fact that Rishabh was not there.

Sanju Samson, in great form at the moment, is going to be the first-choice wicketkeeper-batter for the T20I series against England. Shubman Gill has been left out as well. However, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who did well in the IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy, gets Reddy in the T20I along with Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh and others.T Unfortunately, Riyan Parag is out of the selection due to injury.
