Al Amerat: Riding on Ayush Badoni's aggressive half-century, India A defeated Oman by six wickets with 28 balls to spare in their last match of Group A of the Emerging Asia Cup here on Wednesday. The Indian team, which had already confirmed its place in the semi-finals before this match, after restricting Oman to 140 runs for five wickets, scored 146 runs for four wickets in 15.2 overs and topped the group with three wins in three matches.
In the semi-finals, India A will face Afghanistan A on October 25. Badoni hit six fours and two sixes during his innings of 51 runs in 27 balls. He scored 24 runs with the help of three fours and two sixes against Samay Srivastava in the 10th over.
The right-handed batsman, along with captain Tilak Verma, shared an 85-run partnership in 52 balls to take India close to the target. Tilak scored an unbeaten 36 off 30 balls.
In-form opener Abhishek Sharma once again gave India a flying start with his aggressive 34-run innings off 15 balls with the help of 5 fours and a six, while in the end Ramandeep Singh (13 not out off 4 balls) smashed 2 sixes to seal the victory for his team.
Earlier, after winning the toss and deciding to bat, Mohammad Nadeem scored 41 runs in 49 balls for Oman. He took the team to a respectable score with a partnership of 47 runs in 60 balls for the fourth wicket with Wasim Ali (24) and 54 runs in 31 balls with Hammad Mirza.
Mirza hit one four and two sixes in his unbeaten innings of 15 balls. For India, Aqib Khan, Rasik Salam, Nishant Sindhu, Ramandeep, and Sai Kishore took one wicket each.
