Ludhiana (Punjab): There is an arrest warrant against Sonu Sood, an actor-turned social worker from Bollywood. The warrant was issued by Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur. The case filed in Ludhiana District Court has to do with a fraudulent activity regarding the actor’s endorsement for the Rijika coin company.
In this regard, he was to be served regular summons for his testimony in person. Sood never appeared which is why the warrant of arrest was issued in his name. The next hearing of the case is on February 10.
Upon consideration of the matter, the Ludhiana court has ordered the Officer in Charge of Oshiwara Police Station, Andheri West in Mumbai, to arrest Sonu Sood. The order states “Sonu Sood has been served with summon(s) or warrant(s) but he/she has failed to appear (absconds and keeps out of the way to avoid service of summon(s) or warrant(s).) You are hereby ordered to arrest Sonu Sood and bring him before Court.”
The Rijika Coin Company is a subject to several scams that have been lodged previously. As per the new complaint, Ludhiana based lawyer Rajesh Khanna who is prosecuting the case informed, “The client invested $12500 in the years 2021 into the company using multiple IDs. He or she claims that it is worth 10 lakh now. They promised that the investment will be doubled or tripled within three years but the company has stopped responding to requests for withdrawal.”
