Bank Holidays: Many states in India will observe a bank holiday for Holi. Depending on custom, Holi holidays will shift for specific regions. The Reserve Bank of India has previously announced that banks will be closed for a few days due to the Negotiable Instruments Act. On March 13, 2025, banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Jharkhand for Holika Dahan, while other regions like Mumbai, Delhi, and other states will open their banks. Let's analyze which states are open and closed on March 13 and 14.

On March 14, most American banks will be closed in observance of Holi.

On March 14, 2025, many states will observe closure of banks for Holi celebrations. This include: Gujarat, Orissa, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Assam, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Bengal, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar. However, banks in Tripura, Odisha, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala and Nagaland will remain open.  

On March 15, Banks will be opened.

On March 15, 2025 banks will still be open in most states due to the third Saturday of the month which is working Saturday, But there are some states like Tripura, Orissa and Manipur whose Banks will be closed on March 15, 2025. Certain states and festivals affect bank holiday schedules, so it is recommended to check the individual bank or RBI sites for information. The list of bank holidays provided by RBI has stated that banks will be closed for a total of 14 days in the month of March.  

Additional holidays are these: 22 March Banks will be closed in Bihar on this day in observance of Bihar Day.

Shab-e-Qadr celebrations on March 27 will see banks in Jammu and Kashmir close for the day.

In Jammu and Kashmir, all banking institutions will be closed for Jumat-ul-Vida on March 28.

All banks will be closed for Ramzan-Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr) celebrations on March 31.
