Hyderabad: Alex Hales, the international cricketer, ensured himself to break Chris Gayles’ record of scoring the maximum runs in the T20 format of Cricket during the ILT20 match between Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals on Wednesday. And thus, the right-handed batter went past Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard to become the second-highest run-scorer in T20s only behind Virat Kohli. Hales was just two runs away from surpassing Malik and at the same time, 47 runs away to surpass the score set by Pollard.
This is where he scored 67 runs off only 32 balls of the Desert Vipers in the ILT20 match against Dubai Capitals. Nevertheless, he came close to winning for the team with his knock, but Sam Billings and his team went into the finale for the second time consecutively.

Hales now has the maximum chance of getting behind Chris Gayle in the list of T20 run-machine players. He has scored total 13,558 runs while playing for England as well as for Sydny Thunder during Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, Indian Premier League and The Blast T20 English series.
Thanks to the fifty of Hales accompanied by great knocks by Max Holden and Dan Lawrence, the Vipers managed to get a total of 189 playing for the playoff. Capitals then moved forward in what can be described as a vicious manner when they are on the prowl for the target. Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib played a magnificent innings of 62 from 39 balls and supported by Adam Rosoington’s 44 balls 44 quick-fire innings.
