According to the Panchang, the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Paush month will start today i.e. on 18 December at 10:06 am and will end on 19 December at 10:02 am. In such a situation, the fast of Akhurth Sankashti Chaturthi is being observed today i.e. on 18 December.

If worship is done in the auspicious time on the day of Akhurth Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat, then auspicious results are obtained. On this day, Brahma Muhurta will be from 5:19 am to 6:04 am. Amrit Kaal will be from 6:30 am to 8:07 am. Apart from this, Vijay Muhurta will be from 2:01 pm to 5:52 pm. The fast is broken after worshiping the moon on the day of Sankashti Chaturthi. Today i.e. on December 18, moonrise will be at 8:27 pm.

Method of Worship on Akhurth Sankashti Chaturthi

On the day of Akhurth Sankashti Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning and after taking bath etc. wear clean clothes. Then offer water to Sun God and clean the temple with Gangajal. Then spread a red cloth on a stool and install the idol of Lord Ganesha. Along with this, the idols of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati should also be installed. After this, apply turmeric and sandalwood tilak to Ganesha and offer flowers. Then light a ghee lamp and read Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat Kathi. After this, do Ganesha Aarti and after fasting for the whole day, break the fast by offering Arghya to the moon at night.
