Air India Flight Technical Issue : An Air India flight en route from Chicago to Delhi had to make an unexpected return to the US city after flying for more than ten hours. While the airline cited technical reasons for the turnaround, sources indicate that the issue arose due to multiple jammed toilets on board.

Flight Returns After 10 Hours in the Air

According to flight tracking data from Flightradar24.com, the flight was being operated by a Boeing 777-337 ER aircraft. After spending over ten hours in the air, the plane was forced to return to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD), rather than continuing to its destination in Delhi.

A source familiar with the situation revealed that the aircraft, which has a total of 10 toilets—including dedicated ones for first-class passengers—experienced severe plumbing issues. Out of all the onboard lavatories, only one was functional, causing significant discomfort to passengers.

Official Statement from Air India

When reached for a statement, an Air India spokesperson confirmed that flight AI126, scheduled for March 6 from Chicago to Delhi, had to return due to a technical issue.

"Upon landing in Chicago, all passengers and crew safely deboarded, and accommodations were arranged to minimize inconvenience. Alternative arrangements are being made to ensure passengers reach their final destination," the airline representative said.

Additionally, the spokesperson assured that passengers would receive a full refund in case of ticket cancellations. Those opting to continue their journey would be rebooked on alternate flights at no extra cost.
