Meanwhile, Rahman has sent a legal notice to those who share objectionable content about his personal life. Various types of content regarding Rahman and Saira Banu's divorce are becoming increasingly viral on social media, to which Rahman has objected and has sent a legal notice to those who share such news. According to the notice, social media is full of fabricated things and rumors, which has caused great damage to his reputation and his family is facing emotional problems.

What are the warnings in the legal notice?

The legal notice warns of dire consequences if the objectionable content about divorce is not removed from their respective platforms. AR Rahman has shared a four-page legal notice on X which reads, “On the instructions of my client AR Rahman, I issue notice to the concerned people. My client informed me about the divorce through his X a few days ago.

The interview is completely false and untrue.

“Some newspapers published this news and also carried the joint statements of the couple. In many places, these news and such interviews were run which were completely wrong and false. Such news was spread on social media to damage the reputation of my client and wrong methods were adopted to defame him. The operators of such platforms on social media should understand this.

 

Information to remove objectionable content within 24 hours

Such people are warned not to share abusive content and not to engage in harassing them or incite others to do so. My client has informed those who spread hatred and share abusive content to remove the objectionable content within the next one hour and a maximum period of 24 hours. It warns that those who do not do so will be booked for appropriate criminal defamation under Section 356 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023. In such a situation, the offenders can be sentenced to two years in jail. It says that this notice "specifically applies to YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook as well as online news portals, among others.
