Informing the members of the press, Goenka brought clarity by stating: “Pant will be assuming the captaincy of the LSG with immediate effect”. With KL Rahul having parted ways with the Lucknow-based franchise before the mega auction in 2025, there were efforts made by the franchise owned by the RPSG Group to get a new captain.
