Saif Ali Khan Under Assault
Reports suggest that following a burglary attempt, the actor was admitted to the hospital for injuries sustained to the back whilst being overpowered by a burglar. Allegedly, he was stabbed a total of six times by a 2.5-inch long knife which doctors managed to remove after a lengthy 6 hour surgery. It is believed that the injury was inflicted while attempting to overpower Saif who was protecting his 4 year old son rather speculatively.
Saif is undergoing recovery and as per doctor claims, he will be able to reenter the working field shortly. At this moment, the doctors have prescribed Saif some rest to aide the healing process.

Kareena was very candid soon after the incident, “All of us in the family are still trying to come to terms with that day, and I must say it was extremely tough for us. As we process this challenging experience, I politely and respectfully request all media and paparazzi to kindly allow us to deal with this in private without any intrusive coverage or speculation. We understand all the attention is out of support and concern for us, but please know it is difficult for us and comes at a significant risk to our wellbeing. I appeal to you all to kindly refrain from violating our family boundaries in this attempting time and allow my family and I to manage the trauma.”
In her conclusion she said “As I say this, I understand this can be difficult to comprehend, but on behalf of my family I want to sincerely thank you for your consideration and assistance during this sensitive period.”
The three days following the attack, the suspect was found in Thane and is currently under police custody. Reportedly, he goes by Shariful Islam Shehzad, or Bijoy Das, and is a Bangladeshi citizen per official sources.
