Last night Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times brutally during a house invasion at his residence in bandra, he was then taken to lilavati hospital by his elder son Ibrahim. He was then successfully treated and is now out of danger.

The police suspect that the intruder has entered the house with the aim of robbing it. The police were able to gather footage of the CCTV cameras and found out that around 2 hours before the attack, there was no movement which indicates that the attacker had come in much earlier and waited there for the right opportunity.

She as a nurse has been working for the last 4 years enitently taking care of the children, her job as the care taker taught her that Saif Ali Khan stays in the eleventh and twelfth floor of the building.

She went off to sleep on the 15th of January at around eleven. It was about two am that she heard a noise and noticed the bathroom light was switched on. In a bid to ease public concern, Mumbai police held a press conference yesterday, Cohin testified that the assailant broke into Khan’s apartment through a fire escape. According to him, the defendant only has one objective to carry out a heist. C. "Last night, the accused used a fire escape staircase to enter Saif Ali Khan's house. It appears to be a robbery attempt. We working to arrest the accused. 10 detection teams are working on the case. An offence has been registered in Bandra Police Station," DCP of Zone 9, Dixit Gedam said.

The assailant broke into Saif’s house through the fire escape staircase as stated by the Mumbai Police. There are no pieces of evidence on the CCTV that indicate any form of entrance within the two hours period prior to the attack.

The police speculates that the assailant may have entered the premises well before the attack and merely waited for the opportune moment to strike. There are assumptions of a lack of the house helpers under one of the protectors which is currently being questioned since the attacker was somehow allowed to enter the house by someone.
